🦶  Stiffening of the toe in the metatarsophalangeal joint leads to troublesome pain, redness, inflammation and swelling. In a more advanced stage, osteophytes, i.e. bone growths, occur, which make walking impossible. Stiff Toe (Hallux Rigidus) is a degenerative, i.e. progressive disease, therefore the first painful symptoms should not be ignored. These symptoms intensify at the moment of sole flexion in the so-called foot rolling phase, i.e. during walking.

🦶  The most common causes include genetic predisposition to degenerative changes, consequences of rheumatoid diseases, such as gout commonly referred to as podagra, which is increasingly often diagnosed in young people, as well as previous injuries and post-surgical conditions. Both in treatment and in prevention, it is extremely important to limit the unconditional flexion of the toe, stiffening it at the basal joint. In order to improve the comfort of walking, soothe the pain, and above all inhibit the development of degenerative disease, it is necessary to wear orthopaedic insoles. The Rigidus stiffener used effectively affects the biomechanics of the joints by supporting the first ray of the foot. Thanks to this, it limits the dorsal flexion movement of the toe during the kick phase of the foot.

Recommendations and instructions for use:

l  Before using orthopedic insoles, consult an orthopedist or physical therapist.

l  Full adaptation of the feet to the insoles takes place after a minimum of 3 weeks of their systematic use.

l  Orthopedic insoles should be used in shoes in accordance with their intended use - the left insole for the left shoe and the right insole for the right shoe. Before placing the insole in the footwear, it is recommended to remove the factory padding from the shoes.

l  Orthopedic insoles can be cut to a maximum of 0.5 cm from the toe side in order to adjust the shape to the type of footwear.

l  Orthopedic insoles should be cleaned by hand, using a damp cloth with the addition of a mild antibacterial soap.

l  If the product gets wet, it should be dried in the ventilated place at room temperature.

l  Do not dry in tumble dryers, on a radiator, in the sun or overheat.
