Feet are the foundation of our body, so it is so important to keep them in the correct position. Flat feet is a condition resulting from deformation of the foot, which may occur in two types.

During treatment or prevention, it is necessary to use orthopedic insoles and appropriate exercises to strengthen the foot muscles.

What is the difference between transverse flatfoot and longitudinal flatfoot?

🦶 Transverse Flatfoot is a phenomenon in which there is a lowering of the transverse arch of the foot, thus changing its points of support. This results in development of painful corns, joint deterioration, and even hallux valgus formation. There can be many causes, but most often it is a deformity caused by poor footwear selection, being overweight, standing or walking for hours, and sometimes it is simply a genetic defect.

🦶 Longitudinal flatfoot is characterized by a lowering of the longitudinal arch of the foot, causing the feet to touch the ground with the entire or a significant portion of its surface. In addition to being a visible postural defect, longitudinal flatfoot can lead to a variety of painful conditions, significant load on the knee and ankle joints, as well as inflammation or tearing of the Achilles tendon. The most common cause of the formation of this type of flat feet is excessive strain on the feet resulting from, e.g., being overweight, standing work or improperly selected shoes.

🦶 Transverse and longitudinal flatfoot is the phenomenon of both flatfoot types occurring simultaneously. It is a quite common defect, the basis of its effective treatment involves muscle-strengthening exercises and regular wearing of properly shaped orthopaedic insoles. Untreated flatfoot leads to numerous conditions, joint strain, postural defects and increasing pain in the feet, knees, hips and even the spine.

Recommendations and instructions for use:

l  Before using orthopedic insoles, consult an orthopedist or physical therapist.

l  Full adaptation of the feet to the insoles takes place after a minimum of 3 weeks of their systematic use.

l  Orthopedic insoles should be used in shoes in accordance with their intended use - the left insole for the left shoe and the right insole for the right shoe. Before placing the insole in the footwear, it is recommended to remove the factory padding from the shoes.

l  Orthopedic insoles can be cut to a maximum of 0.5 cm from the toe side in order to adjust the shape to the type of footwear.

l  Orthopedic insoles should be cleaned by hand, using a damp cloth with the addition of a mild antibacterial soap.

l  If the product gets wet, it should be dried in the ventilated place at room temperature.

l  Do not dry in tumble dryers, on a radiator, in the sun or overheat.
